Evergreen Lake in Evergreen, Colorado, boasts the largest groomed Zamboni-maintained ice skating rink in North America, with more than seven acres of skatable ice. Mother Cabrini Shrine
Located near Golden, Colorado the Mother Cabrini Shrine was established in 1914 as a religious center and summer haven for orphaned children. Mother Cabrini found a hidden, natural spring on the site and arranged white stones into a heart shape, surrounded by a stone cross and a crown of thorns. Dinosaur Ridge
As one of the world’s most famous dinosaur fossil finds, Dinosaur Ridge was discovered in 1877, sparking a literal dinosaur “gold rush” of dinosaur exploration that led to the discovery of many important fossil sites. Georgetown Loop Railroad
Completed in 1884, the Georgetown Loop Railroad is a narrow gauge railroad that connected the mining towns of Georgetown and Silver Plume over a steep, narrow mountain canyon. In 1973, the Colorado Historical Society restored the railroad as part of the Georgetown Loop Historic Mining & Railroad Park. Today visitors can take a one-hour train ride and enjoy a view of the Clear Creek Valley or take a guided tour of the historic Lebanon Silver Mine after the train ride.
