Mother Cabrini Shrine
Located near Golden, Colorado the Mother Cabrini Shrine was established in 1914 as a religious center and summer haven for orphaned children. Mother Cabrini found a hidden, natural spring on the site and arranged white stones into a heart shape, surrounded by a stone cross and a crown of thorns. Georgetown Loop Railroad
Completed in 1884, the Georgetown Loop Railroad is a narrow gauge railroad that connected the mining towns of Georgetown and Silver Plume over a steep, narrow mountain canyon. In 1973, the Colorado Historical Society restored the railroad as part of the Georgetown Loop Historic Mining & Railroad Park. Today visitors can take a one-hour train ride and enjoy a view of the Clear Creek Valley or take a guided tour of the historic Lebanon Silver Mine after the train ride.
