Denver Zoo.
Established in 1896, the Denver Zoo is an 80-acre zoo located in the center of Denver's popular City Park. Visitors can see 4,000 different animals, representing over 700 species, with exhibits highlighting exotic animals like leopards, black rhinos, coral reef fish, elephants, zebras, vampire bats, gorillas, and Komodo Dragons, including some species that are endangered or even extinct in the wild. The animals are housed in naturalistic habitats that offer visitors a close-up view, while enhancing the lives of the animals. The Zoo's main entrance is located on 23rd Avenue between Colorado Boulevard and York Street. The Denver Zoo is open daily from 10am-5pm, Oct.1-March 31; 9am-6pm April 1-Sept 30.
